TASTING NOTES

Serena Wines was founded in 1881 near the town of Conegliano, a historic company and market leader in sparkling wines Prosecco. Founded by the nobleman Pietro Serena, it is still family-run and is now in its fifth generation with Luca Serena now heading the company. In its more than 100 years of history, Serena wines has always carried with it values of connection to the territory, of valorisation of Prosecco DOC, of sustainability and innovation. Its product range is extensive: from Prosecco DOC to sparkling wines in the most excellent areas of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano, to still wines produced in the surrounding hills (both bottled and casks). This gives the winery the possibility of meeting different consumer needs, and its widespread distribution ensures that it can reach many foreign countries. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, Serena is at the forefront of studying new techniques for environmental protection and reducing the consumption of non-renewable energy. With the University of Venice, for example, they started a project to power photovoltaic panels with fermentation waste materials. Prosecco Brut Vignér is produced from 100% Glera grapes. The must is fermented in steel tanks and then made into sparkling wine in pressurised vats using the Charmat method. Straw yellow in colour. On the nose it offers a bouquet of citrus fruits, ripe fruits and white flowers. On the palate, very dry with mineral hints supporting the floral bouquet. Good freshness and soft bubble. This Veneto sparkling wine is perfect for any day and any palate. It is ideal for toasts and to accompany cheese boards or fish courses. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Serena Wines

The hilly areas of Veneto are known for the quality of their wines, particularly the Prosecco. Here, in 1881, Pietro Serena founded Serena Wines, the first distillery producing wines sold and stored in wooden barrels. The winery's connection to the land was evident from the outset and is still a characteristic feature today. In fact, the company owns several brands and estates that are distributed in the surrounding areas. Quality grapes of various types are cultivated on the several hectares of the estate. They produce fine white wines such as Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, red wines such as Merlot and Cabernet, and sparkling wines such as Prosecco di Valdobbiadene DOCG and Prosecco DOC. The production processes of Serena Wines have always been characterised by an enormous respect for biodiversity and the local ecosystem. In addition, projects for territorial sustainability have recently been implemented, also in collaboration with various universities, to further ensure the intrinsic quality that has always distinguished its products. Name and address of producer/distributor: Serena Wines 1881, via Camillo Bianchi, 1, 31015 Conegliano (TV). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
