Montevertine is located in the heart of the Chianti hills, in the municipality of Radda in Chianti at 425 meters s.l.m. In Montevertine simplicity, respect, attention to detail and savoir-faire are the guide of every day. The vinification method is traditional and is always the same used since the first harvests. Rosso Montevertine is the historic wine of the winery, produced from 1971 to 1981 as a simple Chianti Classico and from 1982 to today as a Montevertine. Made from selected grapes of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino, this Tuscan red wine ages for two years in Slavonia and Allier oak barrels. Rosso Montevertine performs alcoholic fermentation in cement tanks for about 21 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in cement tanks and aging for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and about 3 months in bottle. Rosso Montevertine has an intense ruby red color bright and lively. The bouquet expresses fruity tones of raspberry, cherry and currant, followed by spicy notes of juniper, licorice and a vegetable trace reminiscent of musk and fern. On the palate emerges a compound tannin and a full and enveloping body. Fresh wine, balanced and great taste. Ideal in combination with a platter of cured meats, grilled meats and for those who want to gamble with stewed fish. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 17/18 ºC.
