TASTING NOTES

Production

Vermentino Irisse is produced from the estate’s oldest vines, situated at an altitude of 300 metres and facing west, caressed by sea breezes that sweep up the valley and promote the classic golden colour and crispness of this grape variety’s skins, imparting aromatic richness and savoury depth. The Vermentino Irisse blend comprises 85% Vermentino and 15% Grechetto, the latter also sourced from an old north-west-facing vineyard where ripening is slower and harvests are later, contributing elegantly to the structure and maintaining the freshness of this wine. 100 ml: E=316 kJ/76 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, this Vermentino presents notes of yellow flowers and Mediterranean herbs, which gradually expand to reveal sweet aromas and deep mineral sensations. The attack on the palate is fresh, dynamic and fragrant, with a pleasant acidity and savoury persistence on the finish.

Occasion and Pairing

It is the ideal companion for fish dishes such as octopus and shellfish, but is also excellent with fresh cheeses and cured meats. It is also perfect with white meats such as chicken, turkey and rabbit.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 12°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Collemassari

The area of the Collemassari Castle and Winery is part of the Montecucco DOCG, in the Upper Maremma, between those of Brunello di Montalcino and Morellino di Scansano. A truly unique 'Domaine' in Tuscany, with fertile soil that is perfect for the cultivation of Sangiovese. The vineyards spread along a slope that reaches between 200 and 400 metres in height, thus boasting different climatic and atmospheric conditions at each point. The heights of Monte Amiata protect the vines from the strongest winds, but these lands are swept by the sea breeze typical of the Maremma. The proximity to the Orcia river completes an organic picture, rich in potential for growing excellent grapes. Respect for the surrounding nature and care for the land will allow you to taste extraordinary Tuscan wines and discover the most authentic side of this region in every glass. An extraordinary place for a unique wine, all to be savoured. Name and address of producer/distributor: Collemassari - Localita' Poggio La Commare, Poggi Del Sasso, 58044 Cinigiano GR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
