THE WINERY

Le Mortelle

Le Mortelle is one of the most prestigious establishments in the Tuscan Maremma, a symbol of elegance, innovation and profound respect for the area. Owned by the Antinori family, the estate was created with the aim of enhancing the extraordinary winemaking potential of the Tuscan coast, interpreting the Maremma through wines that combine territorial identity, winemaking precision, and contemporary vision. Le Mortelle's philosophy is based on a sustainable and nature-friendly approach, in which every production choice is oriented towards enhancing the terroir and seeking a balance between humanity and the environment. The care of the vineyards, the careful management of natural resources, and the use of modern agronomic techniques allow for the production of high-quality grapes, an authentic expression of the Maremma region. The vineyards extend near Castiglione della Pescaia, a few kilometers from the Tyrrhenian Sea, on sandy and clayey soils rich in skeleton, influenced by sea breezes and a mild climate that favors slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. Alongside international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc, there are also native varieties such as Vermentino and Ansonica, interpreted with an elegant and deeply territorial style. In the cellar, winemaking combines cutting-edge technology and respect for the raw material, with controlled fermentations and calibrated refinements in steel, wood, or bottle depending on the characteristics of each wine. Each stage of the process is designed to preserve freshness, complexity and balance, enhancing the unique character of the grapes and the territory. Le Mortelle wines are distinguished by a refined, harmonious and contemporary style, characterized by aromatic precision, freshness and great evolutionary capacity. Each label tells the story of the most authentic face of the Maremma Toscana, a still wild territory rich in biodiversity, capable of expressing wines of extraordinary elegance and personality. Each bottle of Le Mortelle is a journey to the most authentic Maremma, a meeting of nature, innovation and tradition, where the savoir-faire of the Antinori family enhances a unique territory overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Name and producer address: Tenuta Le Mortelle – Ampio, Castiglione della Pescaia, 58043 Grosseto (GR), Italy. Wines should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct light sources.
