Macchiona is the name of a farmhouse located in the middle of the vineyards of the most traditional red varieties of the Colli Piacentini and this wine that faithfully reflects its characteristics. The Macchiona wine consists of a blend of Barbera 50% and Bonarda 50%, where the grapes macerate on the skins for 40 days in steel and/or cement tanks. The fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in Slavonian oak barrels of 15 and 20hl, wooden vats of 40hL and bottle for the necessary time, no filtration and no addition of sulfur dioxide. Macchiona is presented to the glass with a deep ruby red color, of remarkable intensity. The first nose alternates notes of dark berries, with rustic and territorial hints of leather and earth. He wins for being so outspoken, without filters. The mouthfeel is impetuous, filling the palate with a perfectly balanced combination of fleshness and freshness leaving a long persistence. Excellent wine in a reunion with friends in Osteria, perfect in combination with fresh pasta of the tradition with meat sauce or roast game and game. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.
