TASTING NOTES

Ca' dei Frati is one of the most established companies in the production of Lugana DOC, the famous white wine from Lake Garda. Historical documents testify to its activity as far back as the end of the eighteenth century, but it was in the 1940s that the company took shape thanks to the Dal Cero family. In 1969, Pietro dal Cero bottled the first Lugana DOC label which would lead the company to become a reference point in the area over the years. The Cuvèe dei Frati was created to moderate the Turbiana - a native Garda variety - with the national sparkling wine tradition and therefore with the Metodo Classico. 10% chardonnay is added to the turbiana and malolactic fermentation is avoided during the vinification in steel tanks. After tirage, the wine will remain in the bottle for the second fermentation for at least two years in contact with the lees. Disgorgement, brut dosage and at least four months before arriving on our tables. Ca dei Frati sparkling wine is a versatile and fragrant metodo classico. It smells of warm bread and yellow fruit, hazelnut and a hint of sweet tobacco. The palate is fresh, light and accompanied by a fine and silky perlage. The perfect aperitif with fish-based finger food, a Caesar salad or, why not, with a mortadella sandwich. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Ca' dei Frati

Cantina Ca' dei Frati is one of the main wine landmarks in the Lake Garda area, an estate that has been producing excellent quality wines since 1939. It was born from the passion of the Dal Cero family, which was able to combine skill and love for the terroir. The Lugana area of Sirmione, where countless rows of vines belonging to Ca' dei Frati now thrive, was once known as the place of monks, as it belonged to the bishop's curia. Since the first Lugana, the company has succeeded in creating truly unique bottles: from a fine white wine with great elegance to the sparkling version. Ca' dei Frati wines, an exceptional example of Lombardy wines, are the result of meticulous study of the land and vines, the secrets of which have been handed down for four generations. Safeguarding the raw material is the main aim of the entire production process, refined from year to year through innovative and up-to-date techniques, skilfully balanced with decades-long tradition. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ca' dei Frati - Via Frati, 22, 25019 Lugana di Sirmione (BS). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
