Tenimenti Leone is a young company, which was founded a few years ago. It is located near Rome, in the heart of Lazio, located exactly between the towns of Velletri and Lanuvio, in an important area from a natural and artistic point of view, since these towns are part of the Castelli Romani Regional Park. This area is notable not only for the flora and fauna that it hosts, but also for its geological composition: the park includes, in fact, the area of the ancient Latium Volcano, which also gave life to the basins of the current volcanic lakes of Nemi and Albano. It is therefore a unique terroir, capable of imprinting its essence within the products from this area. Tera de Leone is made up of 100% Cesanese grapes, which are harvested manually in boxes at optimal ripening and vinified as monovarietal. The pre-fermentation cold maceration for about 48 hours favours a greater extraction of the typical aromas of the variety. Fermentation takes place with selected yeasts in stainless steel for about 10 days at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Ageing in steel, ceramic and third-use French barriques. The blending of the grapes takes place shortly before the bottling phase. This is followed by a bottle ageing for 6-9 months before being put on the market. Pale red colour with garnet reflections, on the nose, it is expressed with fruity hints of red berried fruits and a pleasant balsamic bouquet. Good intensity on the palate, soft and well blended tannins. Enveloping dynamics. Ideal paired with the traditional Roman pasta carbonara.
