The Bel Colle winery was founded in 1974 on the Collina dei Castagni hill in Verduno, in the heart of Langhe. It was born out of the ideas and passion of brothers Franco and Carlo Pontiglione and Giuseppe Priola. This winery has always aimed to produce high-quality wines whilst respecting customs and traditional working methods. In 2015, it was acquired by the Bosio family, which updated the winery’s technology without turning its back on tradition: vinification in stainless steel and the ageing of noble red wines in large barrels of French and Slavonian oak. The Nebbiolo "Vento Di Terra" is obtained exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes from the youngest vineyards owned by the Bel Colle company, located in the municipalities of Verduno and La Morra. This means that there are different altitudes, different micro-climates and different exposures. This gives very variegated grapes, with unique facets that give the wine a very colourful and unique expression that varies constantly from year to year, always giving new sensations. The grapes are harvested manually, placed in small boxes so that they arrive at the winery as intact and healthy as possible. Processing is traditional, with a not too long maceration and an ageing only in stainless steel. This red wine from Piedmont becomes a straightforward, sincere, and classic Nebbiolo. Upon visual examination, it is not very intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it immediately expresses that vivacity and variegation typical of dried violet, dog rose, small berry fruits such as currants and blackberries. After which the slightly zesty and mineral note emerges. On the palate, it is straightforward and honest. It is fresh but at the same time with an excellent structure, a silky and very well balanced tannin. All these characteristics make Nebbiolo "Vento Di Terra" a wine suitable for any situation, for a pleasant but never demanding drink. Try it paired with cured meats and cheeses.
