TASTING NOTES

Production

The Langhe Nebbiolo from the Vajra winery is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the hillside vineyards of the Langhe, cultivated with great respect for biodiversity and the Piedmontese winemaking tradition. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, with gentle maceration and ageing that may continue in large barrels or stainless steel, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the elegance of the grape variety. 100 ml: E=335 kJ/ 80 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

The wine presents a brilliant ruby red colour, with subtle garnet highlights that reveal its varietal elegance.
On the nose, it offers a fine and complex bouquet, with notes of cherry, raspberry and rosehip emerging, accompanied by delicate hints of sweet spices, violet and undergrowth. On the palate, it is harmonious and fresh, with subtle, well-integrated tannins, a lively acidity and a long, clean finish, evoking red fruit and light balsamic nuances.

Occasion and Pairing

A highly versatile wine, ideal for pairing with Piedmontese cuisine: excellent with tajarin al ragù, cured meats and medium-aged cheeses, or with white meats and mushroom dishes.
Also perfect as an everyday wine for those seeking finesse and balance in a young red with character.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Vajra

The history of Val di Suga began in 1969, when a company owned by Aldo Moro acquired farmland north of Montalcino and planted the first hectares of rows. In 1982, Val di Suga started wine production, equipping itself with a vinification winery. The first vintage to enter the market is the Val di Suga Brunello Riserva 1977. Rapid viticultural and oenological growth began immediately. Since 1994, the Angelini Group has been giving a new impetus to Val di Suga, which is now award-winning and internationally recognised for the high-quality of its wines. Name and address of producer/distributor: Val di Suga - Località Val di Cava, 53024 Montalcino SI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
