TASTING NOTES

Today, the Marzadro Distillery has reached the third generation with a distillation plant that sees as many as 8 discontinuous stills fed in a bain-marie, this means that the pomace is distilled with a much slower process capable of producing the best possible distillate. A second special edition of his Grappa Stravecchia, Le Diciotto Lune Riserva Botte Porto comes from an additional eighteen months of ageing, in a limited number of selected barrels, previously used for the refinement of Port Wine. This further step gives even more toasted and sweet notes to the grappa which is darker, more enveloping and harmonious. The grapes used for the distillation of this product are Marzemino, Teroldego and Merlot as regards the red berried grapes and for the white berried grapes Chardonnay and Moscato. During tasting it reveals all its uniqueness. Bright amber colour. Sweet flavours of acacia honey, toasted almonds, cinnamon and hints of fine spices. With greater attention, notes of small red fruits and toffee can also be perceived. In the mouth it is velvety, soft and right in the alcoholic endowment. Long finish. Perfect after dinner accompaniment, during the meditation phase.
