TASTING NOTES

When talking about the history of Franciacorta, it is impossible not to mention the Ricci Curbastro company. Founded back in 1885 in Capriolo by a family of Romagna origins with farming experience dating back to the thirteenth century, its ancestors include the illustrious mathematician Gregorio Ricci Curbastro, inventor of the absolute differential calculus on which the modern theory of relativity is based. Today, from its 26 hectares of proprietary vineyards, the company markets numerous labels of indisputable quality. The Brut Satèn Franciacorta Ricci Curbastro is a sparkling wine that ensures surprising drinkability. As required by the Franciacorta Satèn specification, the lower pressure in the bottle and the monovarietal Chardonnay make this wine complex yet easy and pleasant to drink. Franciacorta Brut Satèn Ricci Curbastro is therefore produced from monovarietal Chardonnay grapes grown in the communes of Capriolo and Iseo. The first fermentation takes place in barriques with a subsequent 8-month rest period, while the second fermentation in bottles involves maturation on yeasts for about 40 months. The resulting wine is a fine and elegant sparkling wine with a brilliant straw yellow colour crossed by a fine perlage and surrounded by hints of ripe fruit, flowers and pastry notes. On the palate a subtle, creamy perlage is revealed that closes with a touching freshness and full flavour. Ideal for a sunset aperitif or for fish based starters, seafood risottos or vegetables and shellfish.

A different story. The winery of Roberto Voerzio has remained family run, where all the works of the vineyard and cellar are carried out according to experience, tradition and passion. Roberto’s wines tell a different story every year, based on the weather of the season. The terroir has changed over the years, choosing a production of wines in the most prestigious Cru for the production of Barolo, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo. For almost thirty years, the vineyards have been cultivated with the utmost respect for nature. After each harvest, manual fertilization is carried out, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, anti-mould or other substances that interfere with the vegetative cycle of the vine and the ripening of the grapes are not used.
