Contadi Castaldi's Franciacorta Satèn is made from a selection of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from vineyards in the Franciacorta area. The grapes are harvested by hand to preserve their integrity and freshness. After the first fermentation, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle according to the Classic Method and is aged for an extended period on its lees. Its lower pressure compared to other Franciacorta styles gives the wine an especially soft and creamy texture, enhancing its elegance and finesse.
In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow colour with a fine and delicate perlage. The nose is elegant and fragrant, offering aromas of white flowers, apple, citrus and white-fleshed fruit, complemented by delicate notes of bread crust and pastry. On the palate, it is soft, creamy and enveloping, with pleasant freshness and a delicate savoury character. The finish is balanced, refined and persistent.
An elegant and versatile Franciacorta, perfect for a refined aperitif or a seafood-based dinner. It pairs beautifully with raw seafood, shellfish, sushi, delicate risottos, baked fish and white meat.
To fully appreciate its creamy texture and fine perlage, it is best served at 6/8°C.
