The two Friulano de I Clivi crus are located in two distinct vineyards, a few kilometres apart, which fall within two different appellations of origin and also in two separate provinces—one in the Collio Goriziano and the other in the Colli Orientali del Friuli—covering a total area of 12 hectares. These two vineyards are named Brazan and Galea respectively and are rooted in soils whose geological composition is practically identical; it is therefore the microclimate, linked mainly to the winds, that is the determining factor in the differences in character perceptible in the wines. Brazan comes from vines that are 80 years old. Like Galea, it follows a production process that takes place entirely in stainless steel, with an 18-month ageing on the fine lees, during which the white wine is enriched with aromatic and flavour components. 100 ml: E=330 kJ/79 kcal
Its brilliant colour, aromas of wildflowers, aniseed and pink grapefruit, which give way to pronounced balsamic notes, and a full-bodied palate underpinned by a savoury quality that enhances the wine’s development on the palate, make Brazan a Friulano of great depth.
It can be opened for an aperitif with friends, or enjoyed with white meat, fish and shellfish dishes.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.
