TASTING NOTES

Production

Larmandier-Bernier’s Premier Cru Terres de Vertus Champagne is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Premier Cru vineyards of Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs. The vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic principles, with great attention to the balance of the terroir. Vinification involves spontaneous fermentation, partly in wood and partly in steel, followed by the second fermentation according to the Méthode Champenoise. The very low dosage enhances precision, minerality and elegance.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Bright straw-yellow in colour with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals notes of citrus, green apple and white flowers, accompanied by hints of toasted bread, almond and subtle chalky undertones. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with great savouriness, elegant creaminess and a long, mineral and harmonious finish.

Occasion and Pairing

A refined and terroir-driven Champagne, ideal as a premium aperitif or paired with oysters, shellfish, raw fish and delicate cuisine.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Larmandier Bernier

Larmandier-Bernier is one of the most authoritative and refined houses of contemporary Champagne, a symbol of elegance, precision and profound respect for the terroir. Founded in the heart of the Cote des Blancs and led by the Larmandier family for generations, the house has established itself as a benchmark for artisanal and rigorous viticulture, capable of authentically interpreting some of the region's greatest terroirs. Larmandier-Bernier's philosophy is based on a natural and respectful approach, in which the vineyard is cultivated according to biological and biodynamic practices aimed at preserving soil vitality and ecosystem balance. The vineyards extend mainly between Vertus, Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize, on chalky soils of extraordinary purity that give the wines tension, mineral finesse and great evolutionary capacity. The Chardonnay represents the heart of the production, interpreted in an essential and luminous style, capable of precisely expressing the identity of the individual parcels and the different vintages. In the cellar, fermentations occur spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, while the refinements on the yeasts are prolonged to develop complexity, depth and balance. Interventions are minimal and dosages extremely low, with the aim of preserving the purity of the fruit and the transparency of the terroir. Larmandier-Bernier Champagnes are distinguished by a vibrant, saline and elegant style, characterised by extraordinary aromatic precision, energy and harmony. Each cuvée is born from the desire to tell the story of the Cote des Blancs in its most authentic and refined form, through wines capable of combining depth, verticality and natural balance. Each bottle of Larmandier-Bernier is a sincere and luminous expression of the great artisanal Champagne, an encounter between sensitivity, territory and time, capable of moving with discretion and depth. Name and manufacturer address: Champagne Larmandier-Bernier – 19 Avenue du Général de Gaulle, 51130 Vertus, Champagne, France. Wines should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sources of heat and direct light.
