Louis Roederer’s Champagne Brut Vintage is produced exclusively in vintages deemed particularly favourable and represents the most authentic expression of the Maison’s style in a vintage version. The grapes come from the finest crus of the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, from estate-owned vineyards cultivated using sustainable practices. The blend is composed mainly of Pinot Noir, with a contribution of Chardonnay, harvested by hand at full ripeness. Vinification takes place plot by plot, partly in stainless steel and partly in large oak barrels, to preserve purity, structure and balance. The second fermentation follows the Méthode Champenoise, with a long ageing on the lees that imparts complexity, depth and the potential for development to the wine. The Brut dosage is calibrated to express harmony and elegance.
Visually, it is an intense straw-yellow colour with golden highlights, with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it is elegant and complex, with aromas of white and yellow-fleshed fruit, apple, pear and peach, accompanied by notes of citrus, bread crust, yeast and delicate mineral nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with a creamy effervescence, well-integrated freshness and a long, harmonious and refined finish.
A Champagne of great class and versatility, ideal for special occasions but also to accompany an entire meal. It pairs perfectly with substantial fish dishes, shellfish, refined white meats, elegant pasta dishes and medium-aged cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.
