TASTING NOTES

Production

Krug's Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition is born from a blend of numerous wines from different vintages, from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes selected from the best vineyards in Champagne. Winemaking takes place partly in small oak barrels, followed by the setting of foam according to the Champenois Method. The aging on the yeasts is very prolonged, to develop unique complexity, depth and elegance. 100 ml: 314 kJ/75 kcal

THE WINERY

Krug

Maison Krug was founded in Reims back in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a non-conformist visionary driven by an ambitious awareness. His dream was to make the best Vintage in the world, paying special attention to the uniqueness of each plot, vineyard and wine with the creation of a wide selection of reserve vintage. Today, the house is led by the sixth generation with Olivier Krug. Every year, and only once a year, only one blending, only one bottling and therefore only one new Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée is created. The bottle created represents a truly unique work of art, made up of textures and contrasts characterised by a fullness of aromas and flavours, then maturing for at least seven years. Maison Krug's desire is to bring together the most complete sensory experience that a Champagne can offer on the palate. An important pillar of Krug's craftsmanship excellence is the concept of individuality, i.e. the art of turning each plot into a different wine and following its individual character before making any decisions on blending. This type of work allows the Chef de Cave to identify and distinguish wines from individual vineyards that could enrich the creations of the vintage produced and therefore consider them Reserve Wines. Name and address of producer/distributor: Maison Krug, 5, rue Coquebert - 51100 Reims - France. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
