Louis Roederer's Champagne Brut Cristal was born in 1876 as a cuvée de prestige and is produced exclusively in the best vintages. The grapes come from the best crus in Champagne, particularly from its own vineyards located in the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. The blend is mainly composed of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown according to sustainable practices and harvested manually at perfect ripeness. Winemaking takes place plot by plot, partly in steel and partly in large oak barrels, to preserve purity and elegance. The foam setting follows the Champenois Method, with a very long aging on the yeasts and an extremely calibrated Brut dosage, aimed at expressing balance, finesse and extraordinary longevity.
It appears bright golden yellow and has a very fine and persistent perlage. On the nose it is deep, refined and complex, with scents of ripe citrus, apple and pear, accompanied by notes of white flowers, dried fruit, hazelnut, bread crust and delicate mineral nuances. On the palate it is broad and silky, with a creamy bubble, a vibrant freshness and a perfectly balanced elegant structure. The finale is very long, pure and harmonious, with great precision and elegance.
Iconic and timeless Champagne, ideal for special occasions and moments of great celebration. It pairs beautifully with haute cuisine, noble shellfish, caviar, textured fish and refined white meats. Extraordinary even tasted on its own, as a meditation wine.
To best appreciate its complexity, finesse and depth, a service temperature of 8/10°C is recommended.
