Louis Roederer’s Champagne Brut Cristal was created in 1876 as a cuvée de prestige and is produced exclusively in the finest vintages. The grapes come from the finest crus of Champagne, particularly from the estate’s own vineyards situated in the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. The blend is composed mainly of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, cultivated using sustainable practices and harvested by hand at perfect ripeness. Vinification takes place plot by plot, partly in stainless steel and partly in large oak barrels, to preserve purity and elegance. The second fermentation follows the Méthode Champenoise, with a very long ageing on the lees and an extremely precise Brut dosage, designed to express balance, finesse and extraordinary longevity.
Visually, it presents a brilliant golden-yellow colour and a very fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it is deep, refined and complex, with aromas of ripe citrus, apple and pear, accompanied by notes of white flowers, dried fruit, hazelnut, bread crust and delicate mineral nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and silky, with a creamy effervescence, vibrant freshness and an elegantly balanced structure. The finish is exceptionally long, pure and harmonious, displaying great precision and elegance.
An iconic and timeless Champagne, ideal for special occasions and moments of great celebration. It pairs magnificently with haute cuisine, fine shellfish, caviar, substantial fish and refined white meats. Extraordinary even when enjoyed on its own, as a meditation wine.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.
