TASTING NOTES

Production

Brunello di Montalcino Poggio Laudalìo is aged in 50-hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months and for 12 months in concrete vats.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, it presents an intense ruby red colour in the glass with garnet highlights. It opens immediately on the nose, rich and complex, with notes of dark cherry, chinotto and violet. On the palate, it is fresh, silky and elegant, with a precise tannic structure. The finish is very persistent with a pleasant aftertaste of cherry and chocolate.

Perfect pairings for the Brunello Poggio Laudalìo include game dishes such as stews, braised meats, wild boar, guinea fowl or duck, as well as roast veal and pork.

THE WINERY

Castello Finoto

More than just Tuscan wines, the wines produced by Castello di Sonnino are true works of oenological art. This majestic estate overlooks the Florentine Chianti valleys in Montespertoli, in what is the smallest DOCG in the area. On the other hand, the wines that the noble Sonnino family has been tending for more than two hundred years are huge, and the perfect combination of a desire to research and territorial tradition. Profound knowledge of the land and the utmost professionalism represent two fundamental values for Baron Alessandro De Renzis Sonnino, who has been constantly focused on objectives of excellence since 1987, and has grown the Sangiovese and Cannaiolo grapes in his vineyards alongside international varieties, establishing some of the modern blends that represent a fortunate innovation for Tuscany. Name and address of producer/distributor: Castello Sonnino - Via Volterrana Nord, 6, 50025 Montespertoli FI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
