TASTING NOTES

Production

The Sangiovese grapes are harvested by hand, and a second manual selection of the bunches takes place in the vineyard. Here, they are destemmed and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks, driven by indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 42 months in oak barrels and subsequently for 6 months in the bottle.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents a brilliant ruby red colour with intense highlights; the aromas are reminiscent of citrus and red berries such as cherry, raspberry and black cherry. On the palate, it offers soft, silky tannins, accompanied by an intrinsic elegance and a pleasant freshness that invite you to enjoy glass after glass.

Occasion and Pairing

It is recommended with traditional Tuscan red meat dishes, grilled or stewed, local game, and pasta dishes served with hearty sauces.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Casanova di Neri

Cascina Fontana is a family-run business located on the hills of the Langhe del Barolo, near Alba in Piedmont. The family cultivates 5 hectares of vineyards owned and produces great wines of the territory for six generations. Today the winery is led by Mario Fontana who continues the tradition by cultivating the typical vines of the Langhe: Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo. Fontana works in full respect of traditions, favoring a organic farming system without added sulfites to make wines ready to drink and focusing on freshness and elegance. Name and address producer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Cascina Fontana - Località Perno di Monforte d'Alba (CN) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
