The Guado al Tasso vineyards are mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino Nero and Bianco grapes. The vineyards’ proximity to the sea means the grapes are grown in a mild climate: the constant sea breeze mitigates summer heat and harsh winters, providing fresh air and ensuring a high level of sun exposure. It was born in 1996, to give value to a vine typical of the central-northern Tyrrhenian coastal area, to which the proximity to the sea gives it marked qualities of minerality and freshness. The different parcels of Vermentino are harvested separately, in line with their level of ripeness, so as to enhance the territorial characteristics of each vineyard. After soft pressing in the cellar, the must is placed in steel tanks for fermentation, followed by ageing in steel for three months. The bottling of the white wine in January precedes a stop of a few months in the bottle for stabilisation. The glass has a brilliant straw yellow, animated by greenish reflections. Intense, penetrating nose, where citrus scents give way to white flowers and tropical fruit. The palate is striking for its body, in which a visible stability gives way to a fresh and citrusy finish, with good persistence. A bottle to place at the centre of the table every day, in combination with fish and shellfish dishes.
