TASTING NOTES

Production

Bolgheri Rosso Guado al Tasso, produced by the Antinori family, is a full-bodied red wine made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are vinified separately and mature for 12 months in French oak barriques, before resting in the bottle for a further 6 months. This process gives the wine complexity, balance and great ageing potential.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It presents an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of bay leaf, tobacco, leather, roasted coffee and ripe fruit. On the palate, it is dry, warm, smooth, fresh, tannic and savoury, with a full-bodied, silky and noble structure.

Occasion and Pairing

Bolgheri Rosso Guado al Tasso pairs perfectly with grilled or stewed red meats, braised dishes, succulent roasts, mature cheeses and traditional Tuscan dishes such as Florentine steak. It is ideal for elegant dinners, formal events, celebrations and for collectors thanks to its ageing potential.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Guado al Tasso

The Henriet-Bazin family has been working the land for five generations, taking care of the vineyards and making wines with the desire to offer cuvées that express the unique, complex and delicious terroir of the estate’s vineyards. The company is a small Maison that produces about 70 thousand bottles a year and only process grapes owned by the vineyards in the Montagne de Reims in Ville Marmery, one of the three villages dedicated to the production of Chardonnay. The history of the estate began in 1890 when Gaston Henriet decided to keep part of the harvest to try the adventure of winemaking. The company works with respect for nature, the land and the vineyards: planting plants to replace fertilizers, abandonment of herbicides, work in harmony with the lunar cycles, respect for insects. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Henriet-Bazin - 9, Rue des Mises - 51380 Villers-Marmery- France. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
