The Rinaldi winery is now run by Carlotta and Marta Rinaldi, daughters of the legendary citrico, and members of a family with strong links to the history of Barolo. The first vineyards were purchased in the early 1800s, and year after year they succeeded in being recognised among the best Barolos in Langhe. Giuseppe Rinaldi's Tre Tine is a Barolo DOCG from vineyards of three different Nebbiolo crus and whose name derives from the fact that legislation prohibits writing the name of all three crus on the label, although blending is a traditional terroir technique. The Rinaldi family's philosophy is to prohibit the use of chemical treatments in the vineyard, and in the winery they use natural fermentation with native yeasts and long macerations of at least 30 days without temperature control. Barolo Tre Tine is then aged in large oak barrels for about 42 months. Red in colour, leaning towards garnet, Rinaldi's Barolo DOCG has aromas of dog rose, cherry and balsamic notes on the nose. On the palate it is robust, yet refined, and becomes a standout wine with long ageing. Recommended paired with stewed red meat, game or roasted meat.
