TASTING NOTES

Production

The Nebbiolo grapes that make up the Barolo Riserva 10 Anni come from two of the most important vineyards in the town of Verduno: Monvigliero and Boscatto. The grapes from these vineyards are highly concentrated and rich in substances. Once in the cellar, the grapes from the two Crus are vinified separately, and each individual batch is aged for 5 years in large wooden barrels. Only at this point are the two wines blended to create a single wine, which will then remain in the barrel for another 5 years: the Riserva 10 Anni.

Organoleptic Characteristics

When poured into the glass, the color stands out: a garnet red with bright brick reflections. Once the glass is nosed, the spicy aromas of pepper, nutmeg, vanilla, and tobacco emerge. More delicate are the floral notes of dog rose and dried violet, which then give way to fruity and slightly mentholated hints. On the palate, it is a very elegant wine, dry, full-bodied, robust, with an intriguing tannic structure, making it a product that is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Occasion and Pairing

An important Piedmont red wine, perfectly suited for a rich Sunday lunch with company, ideally paired with a main course of red meat.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

THE WINERY

Bel Colle

In the splendid setting of the Langhe, in Piedmont, stands the Bel Colle farm. Since 1974, its founders, the Pontignne brothers and their friend Giuseppe Priola, have aimed to bottle excellent wines, enhancing the tradition and uniqueness of the area that hosts them. The Bel Colle vineyards extend into an area particularly suited to the production of Barolo, on a chestnut hill. The plots are located between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, enjoying favorable exposure and microclimate that give the grapes an intense and persistent aroma. In 2015, the company was acquired by the Bosio family, who applied several technological innovations to production processes, while still respecting the values always promoted by the Bel Colle winery. Large French oak barrels hold the important reds for at least five years, before they are transferred to the bottle. Sipping Bel Colle wines, you'll be enchanted by the garnet reflections and the spicy yet delicate aroma, characteristics sought after by all lovers of Piedmontese red wines. Savor the wines of the Langhe of this fantastic winery. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Bel Colle - Via Castagni, 56 - 12060 Verduno (CN). The products of this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
