TASTING NOTES

The Barolo Ravera by Vietti comes from the prestigious Ravera cru, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, one of the finest areas for Barolo production. The carefully selected grapes undergo Vietti's traditional winemaking process: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by a long maceration on the skins to extract maximum structure and aromatic compounds. The wine then matures for about 24-30 months in large oak barrels (both French and Slavonian), which impart great complexity without overshadowing the purity of Nebbiolo. This Barolo presents an intense garnet red color, which lightens and develops orange reflections as it ages. The aromatic bouquet is rich and complex, with notes of black cherry, ripe plum, and delicate wilted rose nuances. Evolving scents of tobacco, licorice, mint, and a subtle hint of leather also emerge. With aeration, earthy, spicy notes and vibrant minerality come to the forefront. On the palate, the wine is structured and rich, with young yet well-integrated tannins. The acidity is perfectly balanced by the fruit's softness, giving the wine an elegant mouthfeel. The finish is long and persistent, with a prominent mineral imprint that lingers on the palate. This Barolo pairs wonderfully with rich and structured dishes, thanks to its complexity and body. It complements red meats like braised beef, filet mignon, or grilled lamb, as well as game dishes such as wild boar, venison, and pheasant. It also pairs excellently with dishes featuring porcini mushrooms or truffles. Ideal with aged cheeses, such as pecorino, castelmagno, or toma piemontese. Perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries, weddings, or elegant dinners, thanks to its complexity and its ability to evolve over time. It can also be enjoyed as a meditation wine, ideal for a quiet reflection or an intimate moment, offering a long and satisfying sensory experience. To enjoy it at its best, it is recommended to serve at a temperature of 18-20°C, allowing the wine’s aromatic complexity and tannic structure to fully express themselves. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Vietti

In the heart of the Langhe, an area known for the production of the traditional Barolo, Cantina Vietti has stood for four generations. However, it was in the 1960s that Alfredo Currado revolutionised wine production, from monovarietal vinification to Etichette d'Autore, original Vietti wines created by artists and inspired by a specific vintage. In the following years, the Vietti family continued along the road of experimentation in search of quality, contributing to the creation of one of the most renowned brands of Piedmontese wine made in Italy. To this day, Cantina Vietti, acquired by Krause Holdings, combines the traditions and passion carried on for generations with innovative techniques to ensure the production of high quality wines and an a href="https://www.signorvino.com/it/vini/inno_alla_natura/">viticoltura and sustainable viticulture that enhances and safeguards the surrounding terroir. The end result of the excellent Piedmontese wines produced by Cantina Vietti, which convey the love for the surrounding area and the dedication of its producers, can be appreciated on the palate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Vietti - Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 5, 12060 Castiglione Falletto (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
