Massolino’s Barolo Margheria originates from the historic Margheria MGA in Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most renowned and prestigious areas of Barolo, characterised by calcareous-clay soils that impart structure and longevity. It is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, sourced from vineyards cultivated with great attention to yields and quality. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinification takes place in stainless steel, with prolonged maceration to extract complexity and elegance. Ageing occurs in large Slavonian oak barrels for an extended period, followed by further bottle ageing, which allows the wine to achieve harmony and balance, in full accordance with the Massolino tradition.
Visually, it presents an intense ruby red colour with garnet highlights. On the nose, it is deep and elegant, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum and small red berries, accompanied by notes of wilted rose, liquorice, fine spices, tobacco and light balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is structured and powerful, with substantial yet refined tannins, a vibrant freshness and a deep, consistent flavour profile. The finish is long, persistent and harmonious, displaying great character and the potential to evolve over time.
A Barolo of great character and longevity, ideal for special occasions and for moments of mindful tasting. It pairs magnificently with red meats, roasts, braised dishes, game, traditional Piedmontese dishes and mature cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
