TASTING NOTES

The company Pira Luigi is linked to the hills of Serralunga d'Alba from the late nineteenth century. The winery has been run for five generations, but tramples the same land with the same castle on the horizon. Barolo Classico di Serralunga is a blend of three vineyards of the municipality, where the typical structure and tannins of Serralunga meet the readiness and elegance of aging in large cask. The vinification of the Barolo of the municipality of Serralunga takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 18/20 days. Aging is traditional, in 25-30 hl Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months. The Barolo of Serralunga d'Alba has a garnet color with orange reflections. The nose is very complex thanks to its hints of leather, hay, earth and spices. The palate has a nice balance between acidity and tannins, which gives softness and a good persistence. Ideal if paired with red meat dishes or even with a first course with meat sauce. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
