TASTING NOTES

Production

This particular Barolo cuvée is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The clusters come exclusively from the estate’s "Historical Crus" vineyards located in the Barolo commune. It is first aged in small barrels and then transferred to larger capacity casks. Afterward, it undergoes a few months of rest before being released to the market.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It is a Piedmontese red with a rich aromatic profile, where distinct floral notes of violet and rose are complemented by clear hints of sweet spices. After a few swirls of the glass, traces of tobacco and licorice emerge. On the palate, it has great body, dense yet velvety tannins, and a long, lingering finish.

Occasion and Pairing

A perfect pairing for a Sunday feast, it goes wonderfully with aged cheeses or superb meat ravioli with a game ragù.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Marchesi di Barolo

The foundation of the ancient wine cellars of the Marchesi di Barolo dates back two centuries, in the Falletti castle in Barolo, in the heart of Piedmont. Since then, passion and love for wine growing have marked the history of the finest Piedmontese wines, and the winery itself has managed to become one of the most important landmarks in the entire region. The winery is located among the gentle hills of the Langhe, dotted with vines and cultivations, where Barolo itself is born. Since it was founded, the winery's aim has been to enhance the unique properties of the soil in order to offer the best of Piedmont in every glass. The grapes come from a wide variety of sources, partly from their own vineyards and partly from winegrowers who have been selected over many years, favouring the location of the vineyards and individual cultivation skills. In tutto, oggi l'azienda controlla circa 120 ettari di vigneto. Careful and constant work among the autochthonous vines of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato leads to an absolutely unique end result. Name and address of producer/distributor: Marchesi di Barolo - via Roma, 1 - 12060 Barolo (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
