TASTING NOTES

Production

Barbera d'Alba Vigna Francia comes from a true cru, where the Barbera grape has the opportunity to grow optimally, developing healthy and ripe clusters. In the vineyards of Serralunga d'Alba, the work is carried out with great care and precision, from pruning to leaf thinning. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar, before being de-stemmed. The berries are fermented in stainless steel and aged for 20 months in large oak barrels before being bottled.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Barbera d'Alba Francia Giacomo Conterno presents itself visually with a ruby red color. On the nose, the fruit is immediately apparent, with dominant aromas that gradually give way to slightly more mineral notes towards the end of the olfactory analysis. On the palate, it has a good body, muscular yet balanced, flowing smoothly with a pleasant fresh streak that lightens its impact.

Occasion and Pairing

A Barbera that can rest in the cellar for up to 7 years, it is a great wine for tasting, and also pairs beautifully with meat-based main courses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

THE WINERY

Conterno

In the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the Piedmont countryside, lies the Conterno Winery. Here, the family of the same name that founded the winery is committed to producing and bottling its Barolo in search of the best balance and perfect quality. The winery's constant work has allowed it to evolve into the great establishment it is today, where the oldest traditions are still carefully followed, alongside the most modern and avant-garde techniques, to offer high-quality Piedmontese wines and unmistakably stylish red wines from Piedmont. Since it was founded, the fame of Conterno wines has spread throughout the area, giving the winery a meteoric rise. The success, however, has not affected the stable foundations of the family, which still works together in its production chain today. Their strengths remain the same: care for tradition, a search for expression of the terroir and a deep respect for what Piedmontese nature has to offer. Name and address of producer/distributor: Conterno - Via Ginestra, 1, 12065 Monforte d'Alba (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
