TASTING NOTES

Barbera d'Alba Vigna Francia is born from a real cru, in which the Barbera grape has the chance to grow optimally, developing healthy and ripe bunches. Among the rows of Serralunga d'Alba, the work is carried out rigorously, taking care to perform it with precision, from pruning to defoliation. The bunches are picked manually and selected in the vineyard and in the cellar, and then destemmed. The grapes are vinified in steel and mature for 20 months in large barrels, then ready to be bottled. Barbera d'Alba Francia Giacomo Conterno presents himself visually with a ruby red color. The fruit is announced to the nose with dominant sensations, which slowly, on the end of the olfactory analysis, give way to slightly more mineral scents. The taste has a good body, muscular, balanced, flowing on the palate with a sip characterized by a pleasant fresh vein, which lightens the impact. Barbera that can rest in the cellar also a period of 7 years, great wine for tasting, also in combination with meat dishes. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Conterno

In the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the Piedmont countryside, lies the Conterno Winery. Here, the family of the same name that founded the winery is committed to producing and bottling its Barolo in search of the best balance and perfect quality. The winery's constant work has allowed it to evolve into the great establishment it is today, where the oldest traditions are still carefully followed, alongside the most modern and avant-garde techniques, to offer high-quality Piedmontese wines and unmistakably stylish red wines from Piedmont. Since it was founded, the fame of Conterno wines has spread throughout the area, giving the winery a meteoric rise. The success, however, has not affected the stable foundations of the family, which still works together in its production chain today. Their strengths remain the same: care for tradition, a search for expression of the terroir and a deep respect for what Piedmontese nature has to offer. Name and address of producer/distributor: Conterno - Via Ginestra, 1, 12065 Monforte d'Alba (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
