TASTING NOTES

Production

According to the regulations, this is a Piedmontese red wine produced in the province of Cuneo. At Ratti, after harvesting and fermentation, the must macerates with the skins for around ten days and is then aged for a year in wooden barrels of various sizes. 100 ml: E=313 kJ/75 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

DOC Barbera is always synonymous with a fresh wine, full of liveliness and highly drinkable. Barbera’s colour is always a deep red, with the fruit taking centre stage: ripe, fresh, with a hint of alcohol, and a delicate note of liquorice that, on the palate, gives way to toasty and fresh notes. The finish is remarkable and astonishing for such an easy-drinking wine.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal to uncork with classic pasta with tomato sauce, but also with juicy steaks or a platter of local cured meats.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Ratti Renato

The Ratti winery is located not far from La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, in the very heart of the Barolo territory, amidst the gentle contours of the area's hills and the finest vineyards. It is located within the Abbey of Annunziata, and still boasts a production that is closely attached to ancient local traditions. The production of wines mainly follows the teachings of the monks who have inhabited the Abbey over the centuries. The few additions of the most advanced techniques have been carefully chosen to allow the final product to bring out the best of the unique properties of the soil and its most precious grapes. The end result? Some Piedmontese wines that are rich in character, strong and decisive, but at the same time elegant and fragrant, capable of narrating not only the best of the territory, but also the oldest history of the area. In addition to Barolo, the winery also boasts a large production of Nebbiolo and fine grappas, all to be discovered. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ratti Renato - Frazione Annunziata, 7, 12064 La Morra (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
