TASTING NOTES

Production

Carlo Giacosa’s Barbaresco Asili is an elegant red wine, produced from a selection of the finest Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Asili cru in Barbaresco, with spontaneous fermentation and 45–60 days of maceration on the skins. This is followed by ageing in French oak barrels. Energy value per 100ml: 365 kJ - 88 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

It has an intense garnet-red colour. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, with notes of red fruits such as raspberry and wild strawberry, accompanied by floral hints of rose and violet. On the palate, it is a well-structured wine, with silky tannins and a freshness that supports its balance, culminating in a long and harmonious finish.

Occasion and Pairing

This wine pairs perfectly with Piedmontese dishes, such as braised meats, roasts, game and mature cheeses. It is ideal for special occasions, elegant dinners and moments of wine appreciation.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18–20°C.

THE WINERY

Giacosa Bruno

The company represents a unique reference point for the entire Langhe area, in Piedmont, synonymous with territoriality and tradition. Founded in the early 1900s in the commune of Neive, it was not until the early 1980s, with the purchase of the Falletto vineyard in the commune of Serralunga, that the Bruno Giacosa labels began to establish themselves on the wine market. Cultivation takes place on a daily basis, and all with the utmost care and attention to detail. Today, the extension of the vineyards reaches 20 hectares, including many acquisitions that have been made at successive times since the foundation, to offer a great variety of incomparable red wines. The mid-1990s saw the first vinification of the Asili and Rabajà crus, following which the great Barbaresco came into the company. Extreme fidelity to the terroir and its versions, precise and enveloping expressions of Nebbiolo. The Langhe tradition from A to Z. Name and address of producer/distributor: Giacosa Bruno - Via XX Settembre, 52, 12052 Neive (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
