TASTING NOTES

Production

Podere Guardia Grande is located in Sardinia: a young winery with a desire to tell the story and tradition that characterises this region. L'Alghé is made from 100% Cagnulari grapes, a native Sardinian variety traditionally grown using the ancient alberello method on hillsides with calcareous-clay soil. The grapes are selected in the vineyard, followed by fermentation and ageing in steel. 100 ml: E=331 kJ/79 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red colour, revealing on the nose distinct notes of small red fruits such as cherry in brandy and spicier notes such as cinnamon and eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet clean and agile. It develops savoury notes, finishing with red berries and spices.

Occasion and Pairing

Alghé pairs perfectly with traditional Sardinian dishes and specialities, such as roast kid and mature pecorino cheese.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18–20°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Podere Guardia Grande

In the north-west of Sardinia, in the hamlet of Guardia Grande in Alghero, stands Podere Guardia Grande, a young and dynamic reality immersed in a landscape still authentic. The estate develops on clay and red soils, kissed by the Mistral and driven by the sea salt that defines its identity. Here are born three unique territorial expressions: the Vermentino, fresh and savory, the Cannonau di Sardegna, rich and structured, and the Cagnulari, autochthonous vine of the area of Sassari. The evocative names of the labels - Saldenya, Alghé and Nascimento - tell the soul of the territory and the link between nature, culture and wine. Each bottle is the result of meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar, where respect for the environment guides every choice. Podere Guardia Grande best represents the richness of Sardinian red wines and the freshness of Sardinian white wines, Offering authentic labels that speak of the territory. Perfect for those who want to explore the intense scents and authentic taste of Sardinia, these wines are ideal for Mediterranean pairing and moments of sharing.
