THE WINERY

J M Aujoux

J M Aujoux is one of the historic and most authoritative houses in Beaujolais and Maconnais, a symbol of tradition, expertise, and deep respect for the great terroirs of southern Burgundy. Founded in 1938 and based in Fleurie, the house was born with the aim of selecting, enhancing, and interpreting the best expressions of these prestigious appellations, combining the roles of owner, négociant, and élevage in an oenological vision founded on quality and authenticity. J.M.'s philosophy Aujoux is based on the production of "sincere wines," a principle that guides every stage of the work, from the vineyard to the bottle. Respect for the terroir, the vintage, and the winemakers with whom the house has collaborated for generations represents the heart of the project, accompanied by a strong commitment to sustainable practices and a constant search for a balance between tradition and innovation. The vineyards and selections come from the best terroirs of Beaujolais, Maconnais, and Burgundy, territories characterized by granite, limestone, and clay soils that give the wines elegance, complexity, and a distinct territorial identity. The house also owns the prestigious Clos du Chapitre, a historic Viré-Clessé monopole, acquired in 1996 and which has become one of the symbols of the company's production. In the cellar, winemaking is oriented towards enhancing the typicality of each denomination and each grape variety, with refinements designed to preserve balance, aromatic finesse and evolutionary capacity. Gamay and Chardonnay are the absolute protagonists of the production, interpreted through a style that combines freshness, generosity and expressive precision. The range includes prestigious Beaujolais crus, great Maconnais whites and a selection of Burgundian wines capable of revealing the richness of their respective terroirs. The JM wines Aujoux are distinguished by an elegant, authentic and territorial style, characterized by balance, pleasantness and great versatility. Each bottle represents the meeting between the savoir-faire of a historic house and the desire to offer wines that sincerely express the character of their homeland. Every wine by JM Aujoux is a journey through the great viticultural landscapes of Beaujolais and Maconnais, an authentic expression of territory, tradition and passion, capable of combining elegance, generosity and respect for nature. Name and address manufacturer: J.M Aujoux-44 Rue des Sarments, 69820 Fleurie, France. Wines should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from sources of heat and direct light.
