TASTING NOTES

Production

Livio Felluga is one of the leading figures in Friulian viticulture, employing cutting-edge winemaking techniques designed to showcase the border region. The essence of Sharis, expressed through traditional varieties such as Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon, and international varieties such as Chardonnay, embodies the beauty of Friuli Venezia Giulia in all its diversity. Gently destemmed, the grapes are softly pressed and the resulting must is clarified through decanting. This is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. At the end of fermentation, the wine is left on the lees for several months to enhance its flavour, creaminess and ageing potential. Once bottled, the wine rests in temperature-controlled rooms for maturation. 100 ml: E=330 kJ - 79 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Straw-yellow in colour with greenish highlights, the nose is of good intensity, floral and fruity. Aromas of white flowers with hints of jasmine, lily of the valley, vanilla and orange blossom interact with notes of pear and pineapple, giving way to kumquat, lime and bergamot, and finishing with a delicate balsamic note. Lively, savoury and mineral on the palate. Fresh and with good length, it alternates fruity aromas of Golden Delicious apple and Williams pear with citrus and balsamic notes. A long, spicy finish.

Occasion and Pairing

Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with asparagus, vegetable soups, puréed pulses and marinated fish.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 12–14°C.

THE WINERY

Livio Felluga

Founded in Reims by Louis Roederer in 1776, Maison Roederer today is run by the direct descendants of the founder, defining itself as one of the last remaining great family-run houses. The idea was to create a new Champagne through the construction of a new cuvée idea: Cuvée de Prestige emerged in 1876 under the name Cristal. Its subtlety and elegance have made it one of the most famous Champagnes in the world, expressing the reputation for excellence of the Maison Louis Roederer ever since. The company consists of 240 hectares located exclusively in the Grands and Premiers Crus de La Marne, located in the main territories of the Champagne region: the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, the Côte de Blancs. The originality of the Maison Roederer lies precisely in the diversification of the territory and vineyards, where the three historical grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier are cultivated. Precise selection and separate vinification guarantee respect for the origin of the terroir, traceability of the grapes and perfect knowledge of the fruit in each row. The character of each cru is maintained right up to blending: the maturing wine reveals all its qualities and weaknesses, up to its maximum expression. The cuvées of the Maison Louis Roederer are born from a patient confrontation with the elements, from a meeting of talents, from a science of balances, from a resistant and generous grape that gives birth to a wine of crystalline elegance. Name and address of producer/distributor: Champagne Louis Roederer - 21, boulevard Lundy - 51100 Reims - France. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
