TASTING NOTES

Livio Felluga represents one of the great names in Friulian vinification, through avant-garde winemaking aimed at enhancing the border area. The essence of Sharis, expressed by traditional varieties such as Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon, and international ones such as Chardonnay, represents the beauty of Friuli Venezia Giulia in its diversity. Gently destemmed, the grapes are softly pressed and the must thus obtained is clarified by decantation. This is followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel containers. At the end of fermentation, the wine rests on the lees for a few months to increase its flavour, creaminess and suitability for ageing. Once bottled, the wine rests in thermo-conditioned rooms for ageing. Straw yellow in colour with greenish reflections, on the nose it is of good intensity, floral and fruity. Aromas of white flowers with hints of jasmine, lily of the valley, vanilla and orange blossom, interact with notes of pear and pineapple, leaving room for kumquat, lime and bergamot, and closing with a delicately balsamic hint. On the palate it is lively, savoury and mineral. Fresh and with good length, it alternates fruity aromas of golden apple and Williams pear with citrus and balsamic sensations. Long length and spicy. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with asparagus, vegetable soups, vegetable purées and marinated fish. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Livio Felluga

Among the great names of Italian viticulture, the name of Livio Felluga should be included. From the time after the Second World War, he was committed to the revaluation of quality agriculture through avant-garde vinification aimed at enhancing the Friulian border area, where Balkan and Central European influences met and clashed for centuries. It was precisely the desire to communicate a territory to the world through its wines that led Livio to choose his traditional labels, representing a cross-section of the Friuli map. Indigenous and international grape varieties are still used and declined in their truest expression. Name and address of producer/distributor: Livio Felluga - Via Risorgimento, 1, 34071 Brazzano GO. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
