TASTING NOTES

Production

To crown an unforgettable career, in 2016 Silvio Jermann was honoured in Rome by a jury of international journalists, chaired by Gambero Rosso, as the world’s most representative producer of white wines. Jermann’s Ribolla Gialla Vinnae was first produced in 1983 to celebrate the centenary of the winery founded in Friuli Venezia Giulia by Anton. It is actually a blend, with minimal amounts of Friulano and Riesling Renano. Like Riesling, Ribolla is one of the white wines with the highest acidity, which gives it exceptional drinkability and freshness. After fermentation in steel, part of the wine is aged in large oak barrels, the remainder in steel vats, before being blended again to achieve a wine with the right body. Nutritional values per 100 ml: E=316 kJ/76 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it has a bright, pale straw colour, which translates to the nose as fruity and mineral notes. The palate is as fresh as it is savoury.

Occasion and Pairing

It pairs well with fish and shellfish dishes, and is also perfect as an everyday aperitif.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Jermann

Since its foundation at the end of the 19th century, Cantina Jermann's mission has been to enhance the ancient winegrowing traditions of the Friulian countryside. Knowledge of cultivation was handed down from generation to generation until the 1970s, when the founder's disciple was able to combine the study of the most modern techniques with his own ingenious inventiveness. Genius and unruliness, combined with passion and study, has taken the company to the top of the Italian and world wine scene. Another feature of the winery's process is the focus on organic and sustainable viticulture, to reconcile the art of viticulture with respect for the land and the vine times. The company talks to the world every day, but the focus always remains on the concrete things that make a wine great, including the oldest traditions. The end result will give you an extraordinary experience, and allow you to discover the authentic flavour of Friuli wine in a glass. Name and address of producer/distributor: Jermann- Località Trussio Ruttars, 11A, 34070 Ruttars, Dolegna del Collio GO. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
