TASTING NOTES

This family-run winery dates back to the start of the century, when it was founded by Silvio Quintarelli in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella. In the 1950s, Giuseppe, the youngest of Silvio’s sons, took over the running of the company in order to continue the family’s vineyard and winery tradition. Quintarelli's Rosso Alzero is an IGT designation wine made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The name of this wine derives from the portion of land of the same name, located next to the winery's estate, now enhanced to create a Veneto and Italian excellence. The grapes are grown on the first hills of Negrar, where the soil is basaltic limestone and the exposure of the vineyards give the wine its distinctive organoleptic characteristics. The harvest involves a careful selection of the best bunches of grapes, which are then transferred to the fruit store and left to rest in small wooden crates and on trellises. High temperatures allow it to dry out and expel water, while maintaining a higher concentration of aromatic substances and anthocyanins. Pressing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place at the end of December. Ageing continues for 30 months in French oak barrels, and a further 30 months in a single barrel of medium-sized Slavonian oak. Deep red in colour in the glass, Quintarelli’s Alzero Veneto IGT exudes elegant aromas of ripe fruit, wood and vanilla on the nose. The good structure allows a perfect pairing with truffle-based first courses, braised meats and game. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Quintarelli Giuseppe

The Quintarelli Giuseppe winery, a symbol of Venetian oenological excellence, is located in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, in Cerè di Negrar. The privileged position of the vineyards, with exposure to the west, favors a production of red wines of great personality. Among the most famous specialties of the cellar we find the Amarone della Valpolicella, an icon of structure and complexity, along with a refined Valpolicella Classico Superiore. The respect of natural vinification times, the adoption of traditional techniques such as the pergola veronese and modern as the guyot, make each label a unique sensory experience. In our catalogue you will find the best bottles of the Quintarelli winery, selected to tell the soul of the territory of Verona. Discover also other Amarone wines and the complete selection of red wines from Veneto. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Quintarelli Giuseppe - Via Cerè, 1 - 37024 Negrar (VR). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
