In Veronese dialect, alzero is synonymous with hill or cliff. It is precisely in these pedoclimatic conditions that the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines that make up the Quintarelli’s Alzero blend grow, on a slope next to the winery that had always been uncultivated. However, the presence of basalt and limestone has made this soil cultivable and fertile enough to give Quintarelli's wine unique characteristics. Hundreds of bottles, which are only released in the best vintages and are very hard to come by, make this IGT red unique. After careful harvesting, the selected grapes are dried on wooden crates. This is followed by pressing, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins for about 50 days. Ageing lasts 30 months in French oak and another 30 in Slavonian oak. A harmony of love, the colour impenetrable and intense, the aromas dense, closed, fruity and balsamic. A wine that is full-bodied on the palate and taut that evolves with every second it spends in the glass. A perfect combination of two internationals that goes well with meat dishes, excellent to drink on important occasions. An ideal thought for lovers of Cabernet, which needs time to give its best.
