TASTING NOTES

Production

The Dal Forno Romano winery is located in Veneto, in the heart of Valpolicella: an iconic estate that has revolutionised the style of the region’s wines, focusing on concentration, rigour and exceptional quality. Valpolicella Superiore is made from a blend of native grapes – Corvina, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta – grown and vinified with great care in the estate’s own vineyards. A Veneto red wine produced from a rigorous selection of grapes, with partial drying and ageing in barriques.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Deep, intense ruby red in the glass, the nose reveals great complexity with notes of ripe red fruits, cherries preserved in alcohol, sweet spices and subtle hints of cocoa and tobacco. It impresses with its structure and concentration, whilst maintaining elegance and precision. Dal Forno Romano’s Valpolicella Superiore is enveloping and powerful on the palate, with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish, characterised by balsamic and mineral notes.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal for special occasions and formal dinners, it pairs perfectly with red meats, game, braised dishes and mature cheeses. Also excellent as a meditation wine.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

THE WINERY

Dal Forno Romano

Along the Lessini mountain range, not far from Verona and in the heart of the Val d'Iliasi, stands Cantina Dal Forno Romano. Since its foundation, the main purpose of the company has been to rediscover the native grape varieties. After a careful study of the land and the raw materials, it can be said that the raw material is now beautifully enhanced, and transformed into high-quality Venetian wines. In addition to the more traditional techniques, which have always influenced the winemakers of the area, the winery has been able to combine more modern and avant-garde techniques, always respecting the land and the timing of the vineyards. The redevelopment of the land and the vines proved to be a winning choice thanks to the final result, capable of expressing the love and passion for the area. Between the precious bottles of Valpolicella, Amarone and the prized Recioto Vigna Seré, you will be spoiled for choice.
