TASTING NOTES

Production

Les Cretes stands out in the Aosta Valley wine scene for its constant pursuit of quality in the vineyard, with particular attention to the terroir and the characteristics of the grapes, which are then brought to the fore in the bottle. Les Cretes Chardonnay is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, which undergo cooling, soft whole-bunch pressing, and 12 days’ fermentation in stainless steel at a temperature of 14°C. Aged ‘sur lies’ for 3 months. 100 ml: E=324 kJ/77 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it has a bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it is delicate and floral, with notes of banana and plum. On the palate, it is smooth, savoury and mineral.

Occasion and Pairing

It is a fresh, easy-drinking wine, excellent as an aperitif with friends and perfect when enjoyed with fish and shellfish.

THE WINERY

Les Cretes

The Les Cretes company was founded in 1989 in Aymavilles, in Valle d’Aosta, and is now run by the Charrère family. Five generations of history and tradition, the winery is distinguished by a quest for extreme quality from the work in the vineyard to the attention in the winery where territory and variety are enhanced and emphasised in the bottle. The grapes cultivated are the main indigenous varieties of the region and some international varieties, such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The agronomic management of the vineyards is based on respect for the environment through the enhancement of the terroir, with a view to organic and sustainable viticulture, combining traditional cultivation techniques with innovation and technological research. The wines from the Les Cretes winery come from a cold, rocky, mountain microclimate, where work is carried out with the utmost care and attention, in a continuous quest for quality. Name and address of producer/distributor: Les Cretes Soc. Agr. Strada Regionale 20, 50, 11010 Aymavilles (AO). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
