TASTING NOTES

The Ferrari winery is a keystone of the Italian sparkling wine scene, a flagship of Trento DOC zone sparkling wines which has always stood out thanks to the quality and elegance of its Metodo Classico wines, which are esteemed and renowned throughout the world. Trento DOC Giulio Ferrari is the signature which attests to the best Italian sparkling wines in the world, having managed to conquer the challenge of time and enshrine itself as legendary. This wine is made from a fine selection of Chardonnay grapes harvested in mid-September from vineyards owned by the Lunelli family on the slopes of the mountains which surround Trento. The vineyards face southwest at an altitude of up to 600 metres above sea level. Giulio Ferrari is matured for more than ten years on selected lees. It is bright yellow in colour with golden reflections, and the perlage is extremely fine and persistent. Its bouquet has a rare intensity and elegance, boasting a variety of fruity scents in perfect harmony with hints of honey paired with notes of white chocolate, spices, and citrus. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious with an impressively full and velvety body. The aromas of acacia honey and ripe hay mix well with floral notes. It leaves a noble impression with a remarkable length. This is a sparkling wine which knows how to excite the drinker, a marvellous achievement which lends itself well to pairings for big occasions and goes perfectly with traditional Italian cuisine, from risottos to vegetables and fish-based dishes. THE WINERY

Ferrari

The result of Giulio Ferrari’s intuition was born in the heart of the mountainous areas of Trentino. Since its origins, the winery that bears his name has been committed to achieving excellence in Italian spumante production. Since 1952, under the guidance of Bruno Lunelli, this research has continued its journey, allowing the winery to still offer a symbol of Made in Italy, in terms of wine production, recognized and appreciated all over the world. Located in the areas historically most suited to the production of quality Trentino sparkling wines, the winery guarantees an extremely accurate winemaking process in every step. On what is now the largest Italian vineyard of Chardonnay, the grapes that have reached maturity are harvested by hand. They are then pressed and fermented twice in the winery. This ensures the characteristic aromas and flavours. All of this takes place in an area that manages to increase the intensity of the aromas of the grapes thanks to the hot days that alternate with cool nights. It is no coincidence that products of international prestige come from this winery and these areas. The care that the human hand puts at every level of the supply chain and the enormous respect reserved for the environment and biodiversity are the basis of great names such as the Ferrari Maximum, Perlè and Riserva Giulio Ferrari, but also the great Trento Doc, produced exclusively with native varieties and Metodo Classico. The low environmental impact that the winery aims at is also evident in the viticulture techniques. The vineyards are in fact certified organic and the processes are close to the organic system. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ferrari - via del Ponte, 15, 38123 Trento (TN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
