TASTING NOTES

Cantina Podere Fortuna is a small company situated between the hills of Mugello, on the side of the Tuscan–Emilian Apennines. The climate in this area is unique with a terroir suited to the production of fine Tuscan wines. Pinot Nero 1465 IGT Fortuni follows the company philosophy: organic style, fermentation in temperature-controlled truncated conical vats from 18 to 25 days and aged in lightly toasted oak barriques for one year. Resting the wine in concrete after ageing allows it to become clearer and stabilised, through natural means. This wine takes the name 1465 because it has been produced in this area for five centuries. Pinot Nero di Podere Fortuna has a deep sanguineous ruby red colour, it is a distinguished wine with notes of resin, pine needles, and Mediterranean scrub, which accompany the fruit hints of currants and blackberries driven by biting and long-lasting tannins. An ideal wine to accompany meats or flavoursome dishes, great with friends in a large glass.
