TASTING NOTES

Rosato Terre Siciliane is produced with 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes, which are pressed in a soft way, is performed spontaneous fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks. This rosé wine presents itself to the sight of a bright cerasuolo pink color. The nose shows intense aromas of small red fruits, including wild strawberry, cherry and black currant, floral notes of red flowers and Mediterranean scrub, spicy hints of mixed spices and white pepper, to finish with slight mineral hints. The palate is rich, juicy, intense and fresh, characterized by a beautiful minerality and a pleasantly fruity and persistent finish. This rosé is an afternoon wine, to drink in spring with a group of friends: excellent if accompanied with a few slices of bread, salami and fresh cheese. THE WINERY

Calabretta

The Calabretta winery is preceded by a long tradition among the vineyards, with four generations in comparison that cultivate the land following the centuries-old customs of the imposing Etna. The company is located on the northern side of the volcano, in the municipality of Randazzo, and covers 12 and a half hectares of vineyards with old and new vines in a cultivation regime naturale. The cellar, inspired by the past and arranged on several levels, houses underground rooms necessary for long maceration. As in the vineyard, the processes in the cellar are completely natural: fermentation, precipitation and spontaneous clarification. Thanks to this care, the wines obtained awaken smell and taste, reviving aromas and flavors that belong to a memory almost disappeared of this sacred place.
