TASTING NOTES

Production

Simplicity, purity and respect for the land are the three cornerstones that Graziano Prà adheres to strictly in the production of his organically farmed wines. We are in Monteforte d’Alpone, east of Verona, the land of the Garganega grape, and for years, guardian of a volcano that gave rise to the hills of the renowned Soave DOC appellation. Soave Otto is the Pra winery’s entry-level wine, its most distinctive, and comes from the sixty-year-old vineyards of Monteforte d’Alpone situated on the south-eastern slope of the estate, in dark, volcanic soil. The name Otto is dedicated to Graziano’s Border Collie, his faithful companion throughout the day. The Garganega grapes, which make up 100% of this wine, are harvested in September. Following soft pressing, fermentation takes place strictly in stainless steel tanks to fully enhance the characteristics of the Garganega grape. Average values per 100 ml of product: Energy = 299 kJ / 72 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Otto is straw-yellow in colour, with golden highlights. It has aromas of hawthorn, jasmine and apricot. On the palate, it is fresh and mineral, with a smooth texture—one of those wines that, served chilled, you could drink endlessly.

Occasion and Pairing

Refreshing and lively, it is a versatile wine for everyday drinking, yet it pairs beautifully with fish dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Pra'

The Pratello Farm is located in Padenghe Sul Garda, in the province of Brescia, on a hill overlooking the Lombard part of Lake Garda. Its strategic location has also influenced its vineyards: the microclimates and special mineral characteristics of the area contribute to the creation of Lombard wines with a unique character, at once elegant and complex. A multifaceted end product that fully reflects both the family's passion for viticulture and the great commitment and study toward the cultivation of fine raw materials. Tradition and innovation go hand in hand in the company's production, which in recent years has been committed to organic and sustainable viticulture that can best enhance the characteristics of the land. The company's vineyards cover more than eighty hectares, which include the territories of Valtènesi and those of Lugana. Some qualities of grapes are also grown here for the production of whites such as Riesling and Chardonnay. In addition to the productions of Valtènesi DOC and Lugana DOC, the company produces rosés and reds such as Sangiovese and Barbera. A diverse and varied production, all to be discovered! Name and address of producer/distributor: Pratello - Via Pratello, 26, 25080 Padenghe Sul Garda (BS). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
