TASTING NOTES

Substance, purity, and respect for the earth: These are the three cornerstones that Graziano Prà follows to the letter in the production of organic wines. In the Montegrande vineyard of Monteforte d’Alpone, 40-year-old Garganega vines grow. Their grapes are blended with 30% Trebbiano di Soave grapes to create the Monte Grande wine of the same name. This white wine has a distinctive personality and is a real cru of the winery. The vineyard is exposed on the south side of the estate at an altitude of 150 metres above sea level. When the Garganega grapes are harvested, the bunches are cut down and the grapes are left to dry naturally in the vineyard for around one month. During this time, the sugar content of the grapes is concentrated. The Trebbiano grapes are harvested in mid-September. Then, the grapes of both varieties are pressed and fermented in Allier barrels with a volume of between 15 and 20 hectolitres. The wine undergoes ageing for 10 months, also in large Allier barrels. Monte Grande is a golden yellow Soave which expresses the territorial minerality and complexity of Prà’s white wine: golden apple, yellow citrus, and exotic fruit enrich a palate with hints of vanilla and sweet almond. This is a complex wine with great ageing potential. It goes well with fish, shellfish, savoury tarts, and cheeses at everyday lunches. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Pra'

The Pratello Farm is located in Padenghe Sul Garda, in the province of Brescia, on a hill overlooking the Lombard part of Lake Garda. Its strategic location has also influenced its vineyards: the microclimates and special mineral characteristics of the area contribute to the creation of Lombard wines with a unique character, at once elegant and complex. A multifaceted end product that fully reflects both the family's passion for viticulture and the great commitment and study toward the cultivation of fine raw materials. Tradition and innovation go hand in hand in the company's production, which in recent years has been committed to organic and sustainable viticulture that can best enhance the characteristics of the land. The company's vineyards cover more than eighty hectares, which include the territories of Valtènesi and those of Lugana. Some qualities of grapes are also grown here for the production of whites such as Riesling and Chardonnay. In addition to the productions of Valtènesi DOC and Lugana DOC, the company produces rosés and reds such as Sangiovese and Barbera. A diverse and varied production, all to be discovered! Name and address of producer/distributor: Pratello - Via Pratello, 26, 25080 Padenghe Sul Garda (BS). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
