The Donnafugata winery was founded in Sicily by the Rallo family, who, driven by passion, have succeeded in raising the profile of Sicilian wine worldwide. Mille e Una Notte is Donnafugata’s renowned red wine, produced just a few kilometres from Palazzo Filangeri di Cutò, the country home of the writer Tomasi di Lampedusa, who in *The Leopard* imagines it as the palace of Donnafugata, where Tancredi falls in love with the beautiful Angelica Sedara. Mille e Una Notte is a wine that transports us to a land of dreams, the result of bespoke viticulture using only the finest hand-picked bunches of Nero d’Avola, Petit Verdot and Syrah, harvested into crates on the estates of Contessa Entellina. The wine is aged for 13 months in French oak barriques and over 20 months in the bottle. A masterpiece of the estate, it has been an icon of Italian excellence worldwide since 1995. A wine for a special occasion, to be paired with red meats, lamb, fillets of meat and pappardelle with ragù. A tribute to the passionate masterpiece of Eastern literature, capable of telling a thousand and one tales.
