TASTING NOTES

The company of Podere le Ripi was born in Montalcino in 1984 from a first love of Francesco Illy who bought the farm from a Sardinian shepherd near Castelnuovo dell'Abate, east side of Montalcino. Sogni e Follia Rosso di Montalcino consists of 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes, which perform spontaneous fermentation and maceration on the skins for 20 days in oak vats with frequent pumping over and fulling. Aging in large barrels for 24 months and in cement tanks for 6 months. The Rosso di Montalcino Sogni e Follia of Podere Le Ripi is a full and expressive red wine. The perfect combination of freshness and power, elegance and volume, which closes, moving sinuously, between tannin and softness. This Rosso di Montalcino is perfect in combination with pici with white meat sauce or a breadboard of cheese. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Podere Le Ripi

Podere le Ripi was born in Montalcino in 1984 from a first fall in love with Francesco Illy who bought the farm from a Sardinian shepherd near Castelnuovo dell'Abate, east side of Montalcino. In 1999 he began his adventure in viticulture with the first plants and from 2011 he started a biodynamic conversion. Today the estate covers 31 hectares of vineyards divided between the two sides of Montalcinesi. All wines undergo a slow and delicate accompaniment in the cellar, where large vats and barrels of fine woods are used for both fermentation and aging and then finish with a harmonization in cement. Deep roots, vines in full dialogue with what surrounds them and the right patience during aging are the fundamental requirements to grasp those uniqueness that only mother nature can create. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Podere Le Ripi - Via Cagliari, 11 - 00198 (RM) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
