TASTING NOTES

Production

Casanova di Neri’s Rosso di Montalcino DOC, naturally produced from Sangiovese Grosso, ferments spontaneously in truncated conical steel vats for around 18 days before being transferred to oak barrels to rest for a year and a half. This is a significant Rosso di Montalcino from the Casanova di Neri cellars. The winery’s style, which favours rich wines with bursting fruit, is expressed here in a more carefree yet equally satisfying version. Nutritional values per 100ml: 407kJ/97kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents a brilliant ruby red colour; the nose ranges from crisp cherry to blackberry, with a light spicy note. The palate is round and full-bodied, with dark, lively fruit; the tannins and acidity work subtly in the background, making the mouthfeel captivating and flavourful.

Occasion and Pairing

The vibrant soul of Montalcino in a fresh and immediate guise. Our Rosso DOC tells the story of a unique terroir: an elegant Sangiovese that pairs beautifully with food, from traditional cured meats to classic meat sauces. A classic that never grows old.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Casanova di Neri

Cascina Fontana is a family-run business located on the hills of the Langhe del Barolo, near Alba in Piedmont. The family cultivates 5 hectares of vineyards owned and produces great wines of the territory for six generations. Today the winery is led by Mario Fontana who continues the tradition by cultivating the typical vines of the Langhe: Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo. Fontana works in full respect of traditions, favoring a organic farming system without added sulfites to make wines ready to drink and focusing on freshness and elegance. Name and address producer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Cascina Fontana - Località Perno di Monforte d'Alba (CN) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
