TASTING NOTES

Rosso di Cascina Fontana is made from autochthonous red berried grapes, which ferment spontaneously in fibreglass tanks, with maceration on the skins with part of the stems for 15 days. Aging takes place in the same containers for 7 months and in bottle for 4 months. The glass has a bright ruby red color. Fragrant and decisive is the olfactory panorama, characterized by aromas of ripe red fruit that meet herbal and floral hints. The palate is agile, rich and broad, with a very long finish that insists on fruity sensations consistent with the nose. An accessible label, but not without character and personality. The advice is to combine the Rosso Cascina Fontana with tasty platters of cured meats and medium-aged cheeses, or various preparations based on white meat and red. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Cascina Fontana

Cascina Fontana is a family-run business located on the hills of the Langhe del Barolo, near Alba in Piedmont. The family cultivates 5 hectares of vineyards owned and produces great wines of the territory for six generations. Today the winery is led by Mario Fontana who continues the tradition by cultivating the typical vines of the Langhe: Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo. Fontana works in full respect of traditions, favoring a organic farming system without added sulfites to make wines ready to drink and focusing on freshness and elegance. Name and address producer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Cascina Fontana - Località Perno di Monforte d'Alba (CN) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
