TASTING NOTES

Production

Owned by the Marchesi Antinori, the Apulian winery Tormaresca is a production facility meticulously managed by the Tuscan family, situated in the Castel del Monte DOC area. The vineyards are located at around 300 metres above sea level in the heart of the Murgia, an area characterised by unique climatic and environmental conditions. Chardonnay IGT Puglia is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. After gentle pressing, the must is cooled to achieve natural clarification. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to enhance the grape variety’s aromatic components. Tormaresca Chardonnay then undergoes further ageing in steel until bottling. 100 ml: E=318 kJ/76 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it has a straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The first sip reveals notes of white fruit, apple and pineapple, harmonising with citrusy hints of orange blossom and jasmine. On the palate, it is fragrant, savoury and has a balanced freshness.

Chardonnay IGT is perfect as an aperitif, or with delicate fish starters, fried fish or fresh cheeses.

THE WINERY

Tormaresca

The Cantina Tormaresca winery is divided into two main estates, located in two of the most important wine-growing areas of Puglia. The first, Tenuta Bocca di Lupo, is located in the D.O.C. zone of Castel del Monte, in the heart of the Bari Murgia. The second, Masseria Maìme, is located in the Salento area. In both cases, the hectares are cultivated with indigenous grapes, fully respecting the unique characteristics of the land and its precious minerals. Painstaking and constant work has enabled the company to pursue an ambitious project, in full compliance with organic and sustainable viticulture: to produce Apulian wines that best represent the land of origin. To achieve this result, the Antinori family combines the oldest techniques with the most modern innovations, seeking a perfect balance between past and future, and making the most of the unique qualities of their terroir to tell their story in every glass. Name and address of producer/distributor: Tormaresca - S. Provinciale 86 Per Torre San Gennaro, 72027 San Pietro Vernotico (BR). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
